The word "inspiring" is overused and even abused when touting various biographies and bits of history, but in the case of "The Few" the characterization is more than appropriate.

Very few people, especially Americans, know about the Americans who served in the British armed forces prior to the U S becoming involved in WWII.

If you like military history
Alex's book is a fairly detail account from both the RAF as well as the Luftwaffe point of view during the air battle of Britain.
